Meet Candis and John…. AGAIN! What an awesome couple, I shot their wedding last year at the Carl House and man was it one of my favs and is up there with one of my best. When Candis booked me she got a typical normal engagement or bridal session with the package, BUT she asked if she could substitute in a “trash the dress or rock the dress” session…… so i thought and thought for about 1/2 second and said YES YOU CAN! I love some trash the dresses… anything that is out of the ordinary…. Im down! We stewed over some locations and finally she saw one of my earlier TTDs that was shot up in Clayton GA…. that’s the spot she said… so we went. The water was cold but the shoot was fun…. wedding dresses, and thousands of dollars of camera equipment in mountain streams is bound to make some amazing shots…. it did. Check these out…. OH AND RECORD, THE DRESS CAN BE DRIED CLEANED FOR ALL OF YOU OTHER SKEERDY CAT BRIDES….LOL….. JUST DO IT! ::
I HAVE SOOOOO BEEN WAITING TO POST THIS…. Bridal sessions are bitter sweet…. sweet b/c they are great sessions with no stress and lots of creativity… bitter b/c I can’t post a great session till after the wedding… well guess what… IT’S AFTER THE WEDDING YALL! For those of you who haven’t met Ashley yet… we have worked together 3 times prior on my Trash the Dress portfolio (downtown urban look, junkyard and a mountain stream… all kick @$$ sessions =). I was pretty flattered when she asked me to be her wedding photographer, b/c this time it was for real…. and she knows the importance of lasting photography.
Ashley got an engagement session and a bridal session in her wedding package…. the engagement turned out really good, but she sent me a pretty challenging request for her bridal… and if you know me… I like a good challenge =). Her bridal session idea was inspired by this Ralph Lauren commercial… “Romance”. So of course as soon as I watched this I was like… “HE%$ (double hockey sticks) yeah we can do it!”…. Thanks to my brother from a different mother Scott Hawks for letting us use his horse farm and a few of his fine horses. (Dancing Tree Farms…. by the way photogs check it out… his rates are great for horse usage). When we got done with the session I couldn’t wait to get them edited and proofed out to her… BUT I had to wait about a month before I could post…. well the wedding was last night… rocked it out too and those are coming later on, BUT check these out !! ::
Soo I got home not long ago tonight from shooting Latosha and Tad’s wedding at Jim Walters Barn in Lula, GA… what a very pretty venue and very country-esque =) We also did Latosha’s Bridal Session there as well a few weeks ago… bridal sessions are bitter sweet to me because… they are sweet because it is great session that we can take our time and get some great shots, it’s good dress, hair and makeup practice for the big day… they are bitter because the pictures turn out so good and I have to wait until after the wedding to post obviously…lol. So I have had these on standby for over a week now to post as soon as the wedding was over =)… Stay tuned for the actual wedding pictures coming soon… anyway check out Latosha’s bridal below ::
What a great way to end a GREAT 2011 wedding season! This Trash the Dress Session was actually purchased in Andi’s initial wedding package (thats right… she aint skeered!). Andi and Thomas were one of my favorite weddings from this past year… remember this one (click here). These sessions are always fun and creative… plus Andi had been studying up on how work this session. Andi is a fun bubbly gal with a very contagious smile… well this session her evil twin came out and threw on us some attitude… it was a good juxtapose to the normal Andi =). So with out any further delay… check out some shots from the session ::
I just got in just a few hours ago from shooting this lovely brides actual wedding at Tucker Plantation. We met for this bridal session there about a month ago and it has been killing me to post this one ever since. We got a little late start on shooting, plus it had been threatening rain the whole day and was over cast…. but right as we started shooting the skies opened up and gave some some great shooting conditions. Jessica was great and so where her helpers that day (chop chop =)… Anyway here are a few pictures from that bridal… stay tuned soon for the weddings pictures from earlier today ::
and for Jessica’s lil sister!!
So this is one of the bridals that I could not wait to post… so I actually wrote this exactly a week before the wedding… well the wedding has been over for a matter of hours now and I finally get to post. These pictures are great and I can not wait to get the wedding done to post it as well… This bridal was shot at the beautiful Staghorn Chapel in Nicholson GA. anyway I’ll cut this short and get to the pictures because I’m pretty sure that I’m still tired from shooting this wedding that technically has happened yet as I type this… okay so now I’m really confused, but here goes ::
Well the time had finally came… time for part 3 of Ms. Ashley’s Trash the Dress (TTD) session. This was originally supposed to be done last Sept , but after a few reschedules later… here we are and boy was it worth it! I have been looking forward to this water session for awhile. We have previously shot the Country/Urban session and the Junkyard session and now the infamous water session! (OH YEAH… anybody thinking of doing this but is a little timid of ruining their dress… guess what… after all of these session I am taking her dress and getting it dry cleaned and it will be as good as new….. so seeeeee you don’t have to ruin it to Rock It.) Anyway…. I had this place in mind since day one of shooting a few of my buddies fishing here some 4 years ago. Ashley and her mom jumped in the ol truck with me and off we went. After an hour or better ride and some misdirections from TomTom and Casey… thanks bud, we had finally arrived…. well I’m not sure what else I can say other than this was a FUN shoot not only for me but I think for Ashley as well…. The water was pretty frigid still but like a champ she had her game face on…. I’ll hush now and let you see.
